No Limits
by Yvette Monet

Everywhere I look I see beautiful American flags waving alongside holiday
decorations. It's wonderful. Freedom seems to be a hot topic these days.
According to Webster's New World Dictionary Freedom is defined
as 1. being free; esp. (a) independence (b) civil or political liberty
(c) exemption from an obligation, discomfort, etc. (d) being able to act
use, etc. freely (e) ease of movement (f) frankness. 2. a right or privilege.
I'd like to provide you with a new definition of freedom: NO LIMITS.
You are probably wondering how I arrived at such a simple, succinct definition
and where I get the nerve to redefine a word already so eloquently defined
by Webster. My definition of Freedom comes by way of most profound learnings...
by direct experience.
My lifestyle, until very recently, was one that most people can relate
to. I was working too many hours to achieve the American dream. I was striving
to have all the trappings of society: a nice home, a nice car, vacations...
you know the drill. Unfortunately all of my struggles were in vain. I wasn't
happy because I felt I never had enough. Therefore, I wasn't good enough.
I never had enough money, enough nice things, enough love, enough success.
I tried so hard and expended so much effort I worked myself right into failing
health, bankruptcy, and one failing relationship after another. It took
losing absolutely everything for me to come to the realization that I already
had the two most important things in life, Love and the Freedom to live
my life as an expression of that Love.
Now my work is to reveal that freedom is our natural state and we, with
all of our need to do and try and strive, erect blocks to our natural state.
We have the freedom to BE, just BE. We don't have to DO anything. There
isn't a place we have to be or a task we have to accomplish. There isn't
even water we have to carry or wood we have to chop. People are so busy
searching for their purpose in the world. We all have the same purpose in
the world: to BE to Exist. Be the light that you are. That's it. Your presence
is all that's required, your complete presence. The only thing you have
to pay for Freedom is attention. You don't have to fight for it. You don't
have to struggle to maintain it. You don't have to suffer because you think
you'll never have it. Just relax. It's there. Your Freedom is in Being.
Take advantage of that gift of Freedom, pay attention, be present and just
watch the miracles happen as the Universe unfolds to reveal its gifts. You
don't have to control your thoughts or your feelings. You don't have to
change them or suppress them. Just watch.
We limit our own freedom by struggling against the natural course of
the Universe. We struggle to be richer, more powerful, healthier, happier,
thinner, more beautiful. By stopping to notice that we don't have to compare
ourselves to anyone or struggle to achieve anything, we become Free. Stop
struggling, relax, take care of yourselves, breathe, enjoy yourselves and
love yourselves as you are. There really isn't any need to be anything other
than you are at this moment. You are perfect. You are a perfect being of
light and love and you have complete freedom to express all that you are.
That is the essence of every spiritual teaching. You don't have to become
Free; you already are free. You don't have to set up a structure or build
a fortress to preserve and maintain your freedom. The Universe is already
set up for you by the highest intelligence which is pure Divine Love.
To freely receive the gifts of Love from the Universe you just take the
simple step of opening up your mind and heart to accept the Freedom, Love
and abundance of the Life Force which has always been inside of you. You
will physically experience true Freedom when you totally relax and allow
the Love to flow through you. This doesn't mean that you use Love to bring
whatever things you're looking for to pass, but that you let Love use you
to bring about even greater miracles than you can possibly imagine.
Someone told me once that to experience true Freedom it takes a leap
of faith and trust. I think even leaping implies too much effort and too
much doing. Just Be wherever you are and know that you are Free and you
are Perfect. Some teachings say that you have to surrender your will to
the Divine Higher will. Even the word surrender implies too much work. Just
allow. Just accept. The rest of the process is already taken care of. The
cures that you're looking for, the love that you're looking for, the peace
that you're looking for, the happiness and joy that you're looking for,
the Freedom that you're looking for is already there waiting for you to
stop struggling long enough to notice. Don't limit yourselves to what your
mind perceives will bring you joy happiness and love. Don't limit yourselves
to what your current condition shows you is Freedom. The key to everything
is no limits and isn't that what Freedom truly is? No Limits.
