Trust & Surrender: The Way to All That IS

by

Charles Zinner

The willingness to trust God and to surrender all positionalities is the key to one’s spiritual journey and ultimate attainment of enlightenment.

Why is this so?

First, we have to realize that all positions are arbitrary decisions based on subjective choice. The fact that we believe so intensely in our subjective choices often obscures the fact that while ultimate Reality exists as Truth, it is our choices that we base on our own perceptions. Perceptions are based on one’s limited knowledge of the total picture. In truth, all of the great avatars have said that man’s basic problem is one of ignorance. Once one can accept the fact that this is the most widespread problem with the human race, and then one can accept each individual and see the Divine spark within has been obscured, but yet can be liberated through spiritual practices.

The Truth is obscured because we have through eons of time, become enamored with our belief structure and the energies that surround that belief system- our ego. This belief system is based on, and arises from the primitive aspects and structures of our brain. These aspects are also known as the reptilian or primitive animal brain. This is the brain that we used in our earliest evolution. When utilizes one’s pre-frontal cortex, a more advanced area of the brain, the information flows faster and becomes clearer. We thus begin to perceive in a higher and more spiritual fashion. When one evolves through spiritual practices to a higher consciousness, the lower brain is by-passed, skipping all of the animalistic emotions and the drama and conflicts that arise because of our lower passions.

Thus it behooves us to trust in Truth as revealed through meditation, prayer and contemplation, and to fully recognize that we can trust our Divine Self to reveal Reality as it truly is.

For those who struggle to find time or willingness to stop and utilize their time in the afore-mentioned practices of meditation and prayer, there are some other spiritual practices, which can help them begin to realize the truth about Truth/God/Divinity. Otherwise known as “spiritual first-aid” these are the steps to help energize one’s spiritual flow of energy. First, if one thumps one’s thymus (the area above the heart) there is an incredible amount of energy or chi that begins to flow. The thymus is an endocrine gland and part of our spiritual/psychic system. It is also the controller of the acupuncture system and related to one’s immune system and thumping gets our energies moving. As you thump it with a closed fist rhythmically a few times, say “ha, ha, ha” and think of someone or thing that you love and typifies unconditional love. You may do this three times. Smile and feel happy, as this begins to liberate the higher energies of love and joy. Then breathe spiritual energy into your base chakra and up to the crown chakra. With each breath, see the energy as Divine Light. As you do the breathing, think of the word “OM” as it calibrates the highest in consciousness. Avoid “AUM” as it is not as high in spiritual power as is OM. Continue thinking about someone you love. Feel the joy, and fell the peace and harmony and trust that this will help you. During the entire process, continue to trust in your willingness and devotion to God through surrendering all things, all situations, all personalities and all positions. There is nothing that can withstand spiritual power. It is beyond all force and is the most powerful energy in all of Creation.

This procedure leads one out of stress and discomfort. The results can be felt immediately if done with true spiritual intention. Once this relaxing energy begins to flow through you, then one can begin to go into a meditative state or into prayer, or even into contemplation as one goes about their life.

An important aspect of being ‘at-one” with the Divine is that one’s humility begins to emerge and grow stronger. Humility enables one to access Truth because it has the quality of trusting completely in Truth. When one experiences Truth continuously, one becomes that state of being. It is only through “being” that one embeds the energy of Truth in one’s consciousness. To “be” Truth leads to the subjective experiential experience of Truth.

By trusting in the infinite power of the Divine energy that surrounds and permeates all things, one is led to experience a state of subjective knowing in which all becomes clear. The extraordinary is perceived in an extraordinary manner, and all is perceived as one in an infinite peace, quiet and stillness.

One begins to see Truth as it is- that is, Reality is revealed in the clear light of the Divine. Enlightenment is the state of knowing Truth. The continued experiencing of this state of one-ness with the omnipotent field of energy that forms the substrate of all form, leads one to the trust which is necessary to relinquish the fear of the unreal. That which is Real can never be unreal, and as one surrenders all things to God, then the Truth, peace, harmony and love becomes one’s reality.

Reality is Truth and Truth reveals itself through one’s subjective experience precipitated by one’s complete trust and surrender to the Divine. Divinity becomes manifest and spiritual Love permeates all things in a spiritual energy apparent to the enlightened “being”.
