Letting Go as a Process of Awakening

by
Vivian Amis

[What must we give up to reach our goals?]

Everywhere we look, people are seeking – money, good health or the “right” relationship – only to discover that once they had found what they thought they were seeking, they were still seeking. What everyone is seeking, whether on a conscious level or not, cannot be found in this world. What everyone is truly seeking is to find themselves within God and God within themselves.

* Some call this process “awakening” or “enlightenment” and others call it the “Christ consciousness.” No matter what we name it, we are talking about that state of bliss when our cup truly runneth over, when we find true fulfillment, joy, love and peace… and we realize that the search is finally over. We then need to seek no further, for we have found what we were looking for.

* Is there a way?

* We all have heard the great Masters say, “Go within” but many still do not understand. Go within? Within my body? And then we find ourselves listening to our body without achieving greatness. To go within means to go within your being, or better said and understood, to become aware of your “being.”

* In order to find yourself within God and God within you, you have to know who you really are and who God is. We have all heard that God is good, God is great, God is infinite, God is unlimited abundance and so on. But unless you actually experience God for yourself, you will not know God as.... anything. How could you believe in something you don’t see, feel and hear? You might think you could reach this belief through faith; however, it is actually the exact opposite. Your faith grows as you experience God more and more. How could you walk on water, without knowing that God will hold you? Without experiencing God, you would still have doubt and fear in all you do.

* Your “I AM” being is creating consistently through you, whatever you believe to be true about yourself, your family, your friends and the world as you see it. Your personal beliefs might not necessarily be based on the Truth; it’s just what you believe to be true. If you were to change your attention of focus, you would find that things would change. Why? Because whatever you put your attention on, energy flows toward it and creates. It’s that simple.

* This is why the “positive thinking” movement has been so powerful. We can experience the results immediately. But positive thinking only changes a negative human being into a positive human being; it does not align you with the Truth of being. The Truth of your being is that you are spiritual. God is spirit and you are a beloved son or daughter of God, made in his/her/its likeness and image. You have the power to create in the physical realm (through thought), whatever you would like to experience, until it no longer serves you. At this point you can choose to move on to a higher experience, becoming a witness to the Truth, becoming a witness to the grace of God, becoming a witness to the miracle that you are.

* The process of awakening is actually the process of letting go, of becoming aware of God’s presence working in your life. Does it have to be a process? No, but if I told you that you and the creator in spirit are one would you understand or believe it?

* Everything we see is vibration. We vibrate according to our awareness of spirit. The more we are aware of spirit, the higher we vibrate. Colors vibrate. The rainbow was given to us as a stairway to heaven (spirit). Each color vibrates at a different awareness level, leading to a spiritual consciousness, a consciousness that can stop war, poverty, illness, disease, grief and depression. The colors are not so important; it is the vibration each color represents. The goal is to achieve oneness, which is represented through the color white. In white all colors are reflected.

* In this state of oneness, we no longer take thought. To think or take thought is to still have doubt. The ironical thing about this is that only through thinking will you come to the state of no thought. Question everything; don’t fight it, but question it. Why is something the way it is? How did Jesus heal without “tools?” If God just created the “good,” who created “evil?” Is God not greater than your mind could ever “think?” Who is in control of your life? Who do you want to have control over your life? And so on. You get the picture.

* What holds humans back from attaining enlightenment is “ego.” Ego is the only thing that separates you from God. Ego is the belief in a separation from God. Even though many want the benefits of enlightenment, most people fear giving up themselves/ego. Giving up the power to create, giving up recognition, giving up the attachments to the physical realm and giving up the control… yet this is the ONLY way to attain enlightenment. As you surrender yourself completely to God, and you let go and rise above, then all other things will be added unto you – health, wealth and happiness.
