Sharing the Miracle
by Rev. Pat Cross

At this Holiday Season each of us, as the miraculous gift that we are,
have an opportunity to contribute to and light up the Divine Christmas Tree,
spreading our branches of joy, peace, love, compassion and goodwill as far
as they'll reach.
Reach out and touch someone, share the miracle you are, feel the peace
and joy of letting others know who you are and how you feel. Be an attentive
and interested listener. Let this indwelling spirit within you blossom into
its precious and natural beauty, radiance and wholeness. Be an enjoyable
person to be with. You are the only person you can ever know intimately.
You are the one with whom you must live eternally.
Wow! I must take a moment to share with you the enjoyable person I am
to myself this Sunday afternoon. While writing this article I have been
tuning in to TV to watch the Women's Final tennis matches from Manhattan
Beach, California. An unexpected win by a player! That was an internal wowee
for me and the bubbles are still bubbling inside of me. A miracle indeed
in the tennis world!
Another personal miracle for me this past week was having lunch with
a dear friend. What's so extraordinary about that you ask? About 3 or 4
years ago there was a misunderstanding between us and our relationship was
damaged. It was a close and meaningful relationship and I felt a great loss.
I am happy today to report that by the grace of God that relationship is
now well, healthy and thriving. Recently I received a thank-you note from
her thanking me for the beautiful butterfly earrings I had given her for
her birthday. In her note she also thanked me most of all for the enjoyable
time she had being with me. Likewise, she is the most enjoyable person I
have been with in a long, long time.
We must practice loving and appreciating ourselves as children of God.
Let us free ourselves from the effects of past mistakes and allow self-forgiveness
to clean the slate and free us to move on and experience more good. As so
adequately expressed by Eckhart Tolle, author of The Power of Now,
"Your primary task is not to seek salvation through creating a better
world, but to awaken out of identification with form." Then we can
experience and live life from the essence of spirit and not only enhance
our life and the life of others but reap the benefits of the fruits of spirit.
This is miraculous living and a way of life that heals all mortal wounds
and centers all focus and attention on loving and accepting each other in
our Christhood and as our Creator's holiness expressing in, as and through
each of us.
Life itself is a miracle and an every-moment event when we contemplate
and reflect on its nature.
I am sure we all have experienced many miracles in our life that we can
relate to and share. A personal miracle of mine, and a vital one at that,
is the fact that I am sitting here today writing this article. Over a year
ago I suffered a heart attack and it was necessary to paddle me back to
existence. I give heartfelt thanks to the God of my understanding and his
skilled medical ambassadors for giving me a second chance at this fantastic
gift called life. Gratitude is the heart of the soul and creates a Wowee
of divine love to immerse ourselves in and be embraced by. A sincere, heartfelt
desire to respect, revere, and value this gift of life. My aspiration is
to live life in a better way. To live a life well worth remembering.
As has been written by a wise soul, "No tree would be so foolish
as to fight among its branches. God is the whole body and each of us is
a cell within the body. I don't think our own fingers would be so foolish
as to want to chop one off because they were of different sizes."
Random acts of kindness, love, understanding, compassion, acceptance
and forgiveness can be contagious amongst all of us.
Let us honor our differences, love one another and exemplify thoughts,
feelings, attitudes, actions and responses of peace on earth, goodwill toward
all, beginning with ourselves.
What awesome power there is in insightful awareness and spiritual discernment
as we travel this road less traveled. We discover the eternal journey is
one with God, to God and from God. At one with atonement for
all on awakening to the awareness of acceptance of the reconciliation of
man to God, intertwined by the Christ Spirit within us.
What is a miracle you ask? Is it not the opportunity and gift we each
have of touching someone's heart with an act of loving kindness and making
their life, as well as our own, richer in every way.
