Journey to Prosperity
Lorri Ritter

Not too long ago I decided to study prosperity, wealth, abundance, money
or any other word that could be used in place of the word prosperity.
The decision to study this came from my own frustrations with money, an
awareness that many of my clients were struggling, and a long-time theme
in my family of poverty and scarcity thinking. Here are a few of the many
things I learned on my journey.
The first step on my journey involved looking at old, limiting beliefs
that were keeping me stuck in scarcity thinking. The first exercise I did
shifted an old belief that I was poor to a new belief that I am wealthy.
I did this by doing a picture collage of all the things I had in my life
that represented wealth. I ended up with four large posters and learned
that prosperity is more than money. I realized I am a wealthy person because
I have an abundance of knowledge, love, health and beauty in my life. My
focus had shifted from wanting more money to wanting more of what I already
had and more of what money could give me.
The next step on my journey taught me about the spiritual law of attraction.
You cannot learn about prosperity without studying the law of attraction
which states that whatever you put out in your thoughts or energy is attracted
to you like a magnet. If you think and focus on debt, you get more debt.
If you focus on wealth, you get more wealth. I shifted my focus through
a gratitude journal. Every day I sit down with my journal and write five
things I'm grateful for. I didn't realize the effect this had on me until
my brother commented on how many deposits I had made in his family's emotional
bank account. Unconsciously, I was looking for things to write and sharing
my findings with others. A grateful journal helps you attract more things
to be grateful for and helps you stay focused on what's great in your life.
Another powerful exercise involves understanding how certain feelings
can attract prosperity or poverty. For a moment, allow yourself to go to
a time when you felt love or peace. Rank your feelings on a scale of 0-100
with 0 being the worst you've ever felt and 100 being the best. Now allow
yourself to feel anger or shame. Rank your feelings. By choice you can move
up and down the scale. Most people say love and peace is 80 or above and
anger or shame is 30 and below. What does this have to do with attraction?
When you vibrate at a higher frequency you attract prosperity, wealth, money,
love, health, helpful people and more. When you vibrate at a lower frequency
you attract poverty, bills, broken appliances, accidents, sickness and more.
The above exercise teaches you how to raise your frequency and how to anchor
the feelings of love or peace so that you have easy access to them at any
time. Abraham Hicks states that "17 seconds of flowing pure, positive
energy is worth 2,000 man/hours." If you want to bring more prosperity
into your life start meditating for 15 minutes, making sure 17 seconds is
spent meditating on love or peace and use the rest of the time focusing
on what you want.
Believe it or not, tithing is connected to prosperity and is not something
churches do to get your money. The law of circulation states that whatever
you give or send out into the Universe will return to you multiplied. Some
people say it comes back a hundred-fold. The word tithe literally means
a "tenth." Since the law of attraction states that like attracts
like, you cannot give of your time and expect money in return. If you want
more time, give more time. If you want more money, give more money. The
first time you give 10% can be scary especially if you have debt.
It becomes easier if you keep track of all the miracles that start happening
after you tithe. My miracles were immediate so I was able to see the relationship
between tithing and money coming in. Tithing means giving money back to
people, places and institutions where you receive spiritual food. Your soul
can be fed by music, art, spiritual literature, nature, individuals, informal
groups or fellowships. I once gave money to a five-year-old who spiritually
inspired me. I now make sure I regularly feed my soul, because it is connected
to my tithing. Remember you keep the money circulating when you give 10
% and the next person gives 10 %. I now joyfully tithe.
My prosperity journey continues. Writing in my journal, tithing and raising
my frequency will be a part of my life forever. My life mission includes
helping others become prosperous. Like the 100th monkey principle, when
enough people feel prosperous the entire planet shifts and becomes prosperous.
We won't have to worry about a recession or whether social security is eliminated.
We will be vibrating at a higher frequency where only love and peace exist.
By becoming prosperous you can make a difference.
