The Jewel Within

by Rev. Pat Cross

We live in the framework of our own beingness, setting the stage for our livingness by the restrictions and limits we inflict on ourselves or by the reprogramming and renewal we invest in ourselves.

There is great power in choice. Entering into the realm of the absolute, where all substance, source and choice are found, begins with allowing ourselves moments to catch our breath.

Each of us can only live our own experience, and that experience may fluctuate or change at any moment by the energy we invest in our choices. That is where the power lies . . . in the attention and meaning we give to our choices.

Growing spiritually is as much a letting go process as it is a learning process. To give birth to our spirituality, each of us has a need to let go and release many human beliefs, attitudes, feelings, habits, allegations and conditioned practices of human origin . . . many of the false assumptions of our ancestors as they have been taught to us.

Each of us comes into this life experience as a free spirit unrestricted in our potential for self-expression and self-choice. However, as small infants and young children, we are most vulnerable and susceptible to the vibrations and influences of outside entities, people, places, situations, things and events.

The spirit is forever young and always desires an open vessel, clear channel and/or new vehicle for its continuing expression. This divine, inherent and heavenly gift of spirit can only be limited by the restrictions and restraints we humans afflict on it.

Acknowledge the goodness of the past, the promise of the future and the excellence of today. Allow that vital and energetic spirit to be the rudder of your soul and the compass that guides your vehicle enthusiastically into the next adventure of life and living.

We are on an eternal journey accompanied by the God of our own understanding and acceptance. Maybe it is time for some of us to take an inventory of the God of our own understanding, to re-examine our beliefs and practices, to re-evaluate our priorities, and to update our relationship with this almighty presence and power so that our relationship is on a current basis with God. Thus affording us the greatest potential and possibility of strength, love and courage to deal with the issues of life.

When we activate this divine power of choice and let go of the tendency to be addicted to the way we think life or things should be, we restore to ourselves self-esteem and renew our spirit of wholeness. This is especially true and applicable when we encounter human disappointments, disagreements, misunderstandings, conditioned assumptions, grievances, seeming rejection, and other communicative human conflicts.

We stand on the threshold of constant change. Change in our perceptions, interpretations and meaning of life's issues and experiences. Each of us is connected to a Spiritual Source of eternal substance and everlasting love which is inherent within us and eminent to our wellness and progression along this earthly journey as well as the ultimate eternal journey of our soul.

Living today, in the moment of the present, requires spiritual, innovative, imaginative and open-minded attitudes, expressions and actions on our part.

When we are animated and motivated by the love of God and the peace and tranquillity of spirit, our life takes on a new and higher dimension of expression, meaning and livingness. We become spiritually centered and anchored to this divine spirit, presence and power within us. An anchor that forever holds, yet allows us to set our sails and sights on unlimited shores of potential and possibility as well as horizons far beyond our wildest dreams, imagination and human comprehension.

Now is the appointed moment to get in the mainstream of life. Do not settle for an off-Broadway play of life. Be on Center Stage. That is where you belong. You deserve the best. That is what God has in mind for you. So follow through and do your part. Show up for and participate in this thing called life and living. You are special and a specialist. A special and treasured jewel in this vast universal marketplace. Get out in that universal marketplace and be that divine gift of God's creativity.

To sum up the process of regeneration, I share with you a worthy and meaning-felt saying: "Heaven - Don't miss it for the world." Life is a perception and we are the creator of our perception and experience of it. Namaste.
