The New You

by Karin Pekarcik

Did you ever wish that you could have a fresh new start? A brand new you? If you can believe it, you can achieve it; all it takes is the desire to change and the willpower to see it through. Anything is possible!

It is possible to renew and regenerate the old you into a new joyful and glowing being. But it is up to you and you alone; you are the only one who has the power to effect a change in your life. It is too easy to continue to be the same old person, day after day after day. It takes energy and willpower to make the initial effort to stop the old, and introduce the new.

Habit patterns are hard to change after years of energy directed into them. Habit patterns have become powerful forces in our life and are now actually operating as us. By our automatic behavior we have allowed them to live our lives for us.

How do we stop this automatic behavior? We first must recognize that we are not living up to our full potential, and we must truly want to transform ourselves into our ideal self.

Take a moment now and in a quiet space ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do you want to look like?
  • What physical characteristics can you improve upon?
  • How do you want to act?
  • What is your dream job?
  • Who is your dream partner?
  • What activities would you like to be involved in?
  • Where is your ideal home? What does it look like?
  • What is your ideal car?
  • What gives you the greatest pleasure?
  • Who are your new friends?
  • If nothing were stopping you, what would you ideally be doing?

Be serious with yourself. Be realistic. Write down your answers. Now look them over. Are they achievable? How can you accomplish them? Take each one and write down your ideas and steps towards making them happen as well as approximate deadlines. Take your time; this is a serious endeavor. The more energy you initially put into this process the more you will benefit by it.

This is a life-changing process you are embarking upon. It is not going to be easy, but nothing that is worthwhile is ever easy. Everything that we do in life is a challenge. Those people that don't face their challenges are the ones that whine and complain that life is rotten and there is no joy in their lives. They have made their life what it is, and now they are reaping what they have created. Whiners and complainers will never change. They are stuck in their self-created rut with no hope of escape. These individuals have tightly sealed the door of their suffocating prison, and no one can unlock the door but themselves.

We must take responsibility for who we are and where we find ourselves today. When we can accept total responsibility we understand that we have the power to create a new person and everything that goes along with that new presence.

Make a serious commitment to achieve your ideal you. Work on it every single day, every single minute. Changing behavior patterns takes tremendous courage and self-determination. It is too easy to slide into the same old routine. Don't be like the majority and wait until it is too late, and then you find yourself at the end of your life asking the famous questions: Is that all there is? What happened to my life? Where did it all go?

Why stay miserable? You don't have to! You have the power to change anything you do not like about your life. Accept the fact that you have made your life what it is today, and at the same time acknowledge that you also have the power to make your life anything you want to tomorrow. Why settle for mediocrity? The famous athletes, entrepreneurs, movie stars, writers, artists, and musicians tenaciously pursued their dreams; they didn't settle for anything less. And you don't have to also!

Make a plan and then stick to it. Put all your energy into achieving your new ideal you. You deserve it! And thus you can become a living example to others that it is possible to actually manifest your dream. You will soon discover yourself living what you formerly only dreamed about.

Regenerate, renew, and refurbish the old you into a glowing beauty living the life you were meant to. Now go out and become it! You have the power to do anything you desire.

Remember, though, that we don't want to hurt anyone in our self-creating process. We wish to encourage others to grow along with us, but if they do not choose to proceed with the new program, then don't allow them to stop you from achieving success in your life, and at the same time don't hurt them in the process.

Everyone has their own unique cycle of growth and their cycle may not have arrived yet. Honor and respect them for who they are, and also show them that there is a glorious future in store for them if they choose to modify their behavior patterns into ones of success and joy. Always be an example of beauty so that others may benefit by your achievements.

Now go out and become your ideal you! Transform yourself into a living beauty in a world of no-limits.
