It's Up To Me

by Rev. Pat Cross

To live a healthy, productive and fulfilling life, it is vital that we are nourished spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. Fitness of the spirit, mind, body and soul is a prerequisite to healing, wellness and wholeness of being.

In our deepest awareness, when we realize and accept all is God . . . all Good . . . that God is really all there is and is everywhere present, we can transcend the appearances of human conditioning and behavior. In the realization and acceptance of this spiritual truth, we more easily and effortlessly put on the cloak of our divinity. We loosen ourselves from the moorings of fear, doubt, uncertainty, hatred, resentments, judgments and all attitudes of negativity. We become like the knight-in-shining-armor, all aglow with the spirit of life and the awesomeness and allsomeness of God. We are nourished in spirit, mind, body and soul. We not only feel the wonderment of life, we experience the sacredness and reverence for life and become the glory of life itself. An exuberant and all-embracing nourishment of the soul that comes alive in every cell of our body and illumines our way with peace, love, joy and expectancy beyond any human understanding.

Being aware of and consciously and actively living in the presence of God is the most powerfelt healing agency known to man to heal anything. And knowing that our intuition is strong and truthfelt brings peace, security and confidence into our daily life.

With such divine attributes alive and well within us, we know and experience a spiritual nourishment that flows to and through all aspects of our being . . . an eternal nourishment that goes beyond human definition or understanding . . . a nourishment that has no boundaries and can be likened to a deep well of infinite abundant resources that never runs dry and is always fed by the ultimate source of creation.

In practical application, this spiritual awareness and acceptance can be compared to energy management: the appropriate management and use of the energy we are. Knowing and accepting we are all God -- yet not all of God -- is a good awareness to begin with. When we accept that we are created in God's image and likeness, this spiritual truth takes on real meaning to us. We cultivate an attitude of wisdom in dealing with the issues of life and our personal response to them. We become more experienced and skilled in discerning how to apply and utilize this vast power of energy that we are to our highest good.

Each of us has been given the power of choice. We realize the truth of this statement that what we give attention to expands in our consciousness and life, and ultimately outpictures as our experience. We are truly energized by the thoughts we think, so it is essential and vital that we nourish ourselves with thoughts energized by love, acceptance, support, encouragement, peace, harmony and divine right action.

How this truth is outpicturing in my life is: being aware of and developing the practice of good orderly direction, setting priorities, eliminating over-extending myself, listening to and following that intuitive voice within, and doing whatever I am about and doing in a peacefelt, harmonious and natural way. To quote a wise friend of mine, "In living, we are given many opportunities to learn valuable lessons that can enhance the harmonious flow of our life." And this harmonious flow of life is what nourishes our spirit, mind, body and soul.

Harmonious living is a choice and spiritual nourishment is only a conscious attitude away. "If it's to be, it is up to me!"
